The Gallery of Modern Art is displaying a collection of works by Cai Guo-Qiang. Collectively called “Falling back to Earth,” they include a forty-metre eucalyptus tree (“Eucalyptus”) and two of the most stunning installations I have ever seen.
“Head-on” consists of ninety-nine wolves running through the air to collide with a sheet of glass, falling and returning to the chase. This piece alone would make the visit worthwhile ten times over.
The other installation, “Heritage,” is the most astonishing artwork I have ever seen.
